What It\u2019s Like Knowing Jesus \u2014 Experiencing the Messiah Personally<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNow this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.\u201d<\/em>
\u2014 John 17:3<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Many know about Jesus. Fewer truly know<\/strong> Him. Yet Jesus made it clear\u2014eternal life is found in knowing<\/strong> Him personally. So what is that like? What does it feel like? And why does it matter?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udfc6 Knowing Jesus Is Like Finding a Treasure<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Jesus said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

\u201cThe kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field\u2026 in his joy, he went and sold all he had and bought that field.\u201d<\/em>
\u2014 Matthew 13:44<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Greek word for \u201cjoy\u201d here is \u03c7\u03b1\u03c1\u03ac (chara)<\/strong> \u2014 deep, spiritual gladness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To know Jesus is to discover something so valuable that it changes everything. You gladly leave behind lesser things to gain Him. The relationship becomes the reward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udc51 Knowing Jesus Is Knowing the Messiah (\u03a7\u03c1\u03b9\u03c3\u03c4\u03cc\u03c2)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The word Messiah<\/em> comes from the Hebrew Mashiach<\/em>\u2014meaning Anointed One<\/strong>. In Greek, it\u2019s \u03a7\u03c1\u03b9\u03c3\u03c4\u03cc\u03c2 (Christos)<\/strong>. To know Jesus is to recognize Him not just as teacher, but as the chosen Savior<\/em> foretold by the prophets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI, the one speaking to you\u2014I am he [the Messiah].\u201d<\/em>
\u2014 John 4:26<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Jesus fulfills three divine roles:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Prophet<\/strong> \u2013 speaking God\u2019s truth<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Priest<\/strong> \u2013 interceding and forgiving sin<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • King<\/strong> \u2013 ruling with justice and peace<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cHis kingdom will never end.\u201d<\/em>
    \u2014 Luke 1:33<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    \ud83c\udf3f Knowing Jesus Is Like Abiding in a Vine<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    \n

    \u201cI am the vine; you are the branches\u2026 apart from me, you can do nothing.\u201d<\/em>
    \u2014 John 15:5<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    The word Jesus uses for \u201cremain\u201d is \u03bc\u03ad\u03bd\u03c9 (men\u014d<\/em>)<\/strong>\u2014to abide<\/strong>, dwell, stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Knowing Jesus isn\u2019t a one-time belief. It\u2019s an ongoing, living connection. His life flows into you. You bear spiritual fruit\u2014love<\/strong>, joy<\/strong>, peace<\/strong>, patience<\/strong> (Galatians 5:22\u201323).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \ud83d\udc11 Knowing Jesus Means Hearing His Voice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cMy sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.\u201d<\/em>
    \u2014 John 10:27<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    The Greek word for \u201cknow\u201d here is \u03b3\u03b9\u03bd\u03ce\u03c3\u03ba\u03c9 (gin\u014dsk\u014d<\/em>)<\/strong>\u2014a deep, intimate kind of knowing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Jesus doesn\u2019t offer a religion\u2014He offers a relationship<\/strong>. His sheep hear His voice and follow Him daily. And He knows them by name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \ud83c\udf2c\ufe0f Knowing Jesus Is Like the Wind \u2014 Invisible Yet Powerful<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Jesus said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cThe wind blows wherever it pleases\u2026 So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.\u201d<\/em>
    \u2014 John 3:8<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    In Greek, the same word is used for wind<\/strong> and Spirit<\/strong>: \u03c0\u03bd\u03b5\u1fe6\u03bc\u03b1 (pneuma<\/em>)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To know Jesus is to have His Spirit<\/strong> living in you. You may not see Him\u2014but you feel<\/em> His presence, His leading, His conviction, and His power to change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cIt is for your good that I am going away\u2026 unless I go, the Advocate will not come to you.\u201d<\/em>
    \u2014 John 16:7<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    \ud83d\udd25 Knowing Jesus Means Transformation from the Inside Out<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cIf anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation\u2026\u201d<\/em>
    \u2014 2 Corinthians 5:17<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    Those who know Jesus don\u2019t stay the same. He doesn\u2019t just forgive<\/strong>\u2014He transforms<\/strong>. His Spirit teaches, renews, convicts, and leads us into freedom from sin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cHe must increase, but I must decrease.\u201d<\/em>
    \u2014 John 3:30<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    Knowing Jesus is a daily yielding to His life, His love, and His truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u2694\ufe0f Following Jesus Means Dying to Self and Walking in His Way<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cUnless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit.\u201d<\/strong>
    \u2014 John 12:24<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    To follow Jesus is to surrender your self-will, pride, and sin. Like a seed that dies in the soil, your old self must be buried\u2014so His life can grow in you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cTake up your cross daily and follow me.\u201d<\/em>
    \u2014 Luke 9:23<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    Jesus declared:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cI am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.\u201d<\/em>
    \u2014 John 14:6<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    In Greek:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • h\u0113 al\u0113theia<\/strong> \u2013 the Truth<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • h\u0113 z\u014d\u0113<\/strong> \u2013 the Life<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      To know Jesus is to find your true direction<\/strong>, your true reality<\/strong>, and your true source of life<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \u2757 Final Reflection: Do You Know Him?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
      \n

      \u201cMany will say to me\u2026 \u2018Lord, Lord,\u2019 and I will tell them plainly, \u2018I never knew you.\u2019\u201d<\/em>
      \u2014 Matthew 7:22\u201323<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

      It\u2019s not enough to know about<\/em> Him. The real question is: Does He know you?<\/strong> Do you accept His words? Trust His commands? Walk with Him daily?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \u201cIf you love me, you will keep my commandments.\u201d<\/strong>
      \u2014 John 14:15 (ESV)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \u201cWhy do you call me, \u2018Lord, Lord,\u2019 and do not do what I say?\u201d<\/strong>
      \u2014 Luke 6:46 (ESV)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

      And its parallel warning at the end of the Sermon on the Mount:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \u201cNot everyone who says to me, \u2018Lord, Lord,\u2019 will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.\u201d<\/strong>
      \u2014 Matthew 7:21<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

      Jesus wants to be known\u2014not in religion, but in relationship<\/strong>. To those who come in humility, love truth, and seek His Kingdom, He says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \u201cI will come in and eat with them, and they with me.\u201d<\/em>
      \u2014 Revelation 3:20<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

      \n\n\n\n

      \u2728 Call to Action<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      If you\u2019ve been distant from Jesus\u2014or never truly known Him\u2014His invitation still stands:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \u201cCome, follow me.\u201d<\/em> \u2014 Matthew 4:19<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

      Spend time in His teachings. Ask Him to reveal Himself. Turn away from sin. Abide in Him. And you will discover: knowing Jesus is life itself.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
